Researchers need be able to communicate their research to the public. To do so, they need a clear and well-designed website, and understandable and concise descriptions of their research. A social media presence can help spread the word, as well as writing articles about discoveries to reach a broader audience.
The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) wants to help University of Virginia faculty to communicate and amplify their research and ideas effectively.
We’ve assembled some resources that we hope will help.
Also, every year the OVPR sponsors the Research Communications Fellows program. The program is an opportunity for 15-35 researchers to work with the VPR for a year to improve their communications skills. Applications are due in the spring.
