Quantum Computing: Revolutionizing the Future of Technology
Date: Monday, October 13th
Time: 1 - 6pm
Location: Pinn Hall Conference Center
Quantum computing uses the rules of the microscopic world to solve select complex, intractable problems exponentially faster than normal computers. The implications of this emerging technology include breakthroughs in materials and drug discovery as well as chemistry, with potentially revolutionizing industrial and societal (global warming) implications.
UVA has a vibrant experimental drive in photonic quantum computing and a budding, widely interdisciplinary effort in quantum algorithm research, and this symposium will highlight the work happening in this exciting space across Grounds. The ultimate goal is to foster collaboration on continued advancements in Quantum Computing that will make this revolutionary technology a reality.
