In order to facilitate your research, the UVA Investigational Drug Service (IDS) pharmacists needs to be aware of your IRB approved protocol. The IDS has a responsibility with respect to assisting you with the dispensing of investigational drugs. According to JCAH guidelines, the IDS is responsible for all investigational drugs at this institution. Therefore he/she should be notified as to the drug you receive, the date of receipt and the storage location, if not in the pharmacy.
